SITE-SEEING WITH GREG MERKLEY

Using the Internet like a Help Wanted section

The tight job market for agents in the US is forcing agencies to look for all available resources for staff, and, of course, employers are looking out for their best options.

The Internet can help managers and job candidates look as far afield as they wish without a large investment in either money or time.

Despite all of these benefits, the Internet is just a tool, not a solution by itself. Hiring an agent or accepting a job in an agency is a complex decision that involves many subtle emotional and subjective concerns.

The Internet is a useful source of information, but it does not provide judgment. That, as always, is a purely human concern.

The following Web sites offer on-line job services to employers and/or job seekers. There are many more sites and organizations that provide these services, but these sites provide useful listing, browsing or matching services for travel-related jobs on-line.

All of these sites, along with complete contact information, are listed in the "Job and Hiring Resources" category of the Business Resource page on our free Web site for travel agents, PositiveSpace, at www.positivespace.com
