Agent Contest
CHICAGO -- Positivespace.com, a major on-line resource
for travel agents, is running an agent sweepstakes whose prize is an all-inclusive
vacation on River Barge Excursion Lines, which cruises the Mississippi River
and Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
PositiveSpace.com is a Web site that provides on-line consulting
and marketing services, Internet connectivity and GDS interfaces.
The site was designed as an on-line business resource that
agents can use to get information about nearly any aspect of their business,
including current suppliers, new suppliers, bookings, industry statistics,
trade association contact information, technology vendors, educational resources
and more.
Free to qualified travel agents, PositiveSpace gives travel
suppliers the means to use the Internet to reach the agents who have registered
with PositiveSpace.
The sweepstakes runs through May 19. The winning agent
receives a cruise aboard the 198-guest River Explorer. To enter,
agents need to fill out a short form on PositiveSpace.com's Web site.
The number of registered PositiveSpace users was 4,000
after a contest earlier this winter that gave the winner two round trip tickets
to anywhere in the Continental U.S.
"We keep growing because we provide valuable services
that our subscribers and our sponsoring vendors can't find anywhere else,"
said Greg Merkley, president of Travel Technology & Magic, the owner
and operator of PositiveSpace. "Beyond the daily e-mail news flashes
and the bimonthly industry newsletters, we provide an on-line directory
that agents use to learn about more than 1,000 suppliers."
The winner was Cindy Plott, assistant travel manager at
a Worldwide Travel corporate site in Little Rock, Ark. Plott said that she
had been using PositiveSpace.com for about four months to get up-to-the-minute
airline information for her clients.
